How to achieve green sustainability goals for the Data Center Industry
As the basic infrastructures of digitalization, powerful data centres in addition to a broadband infrastructure have a significant impact on current and future economic development and provide the basis for the highly expected additional value added potential through digitalization.
Data centers also need energy and are the main prerequisite for achieving the climate targets in Germany and Europe. In order to advance digital change in all economic areas and to implement the climate goals of the European Union and Germany, the areas of tension between energy consumption, CO2 emissions as well as ecological sustainability and economic success must be addressed and resolved.
The Alliance to Strengthen Digital Infrastructures (https://digitale-infrastrukturen.net/en/) established under the umbrella of the eco Association therefore wants to raise awareness of the opportunities and challenges of digitalization and the importance of digital infrastructures in the context of this online panel discussion.
